Raising money for gynaecological cancer research in New Zealand by donating my hair to make a wig.
Canterbury
This November I will be donating my hair to Freedom Wigs to go towards making wigs for cancer and hair-loss patients.
I am fundraising money alongside this hair chop (around 36cm) for the New Zealand Gynaecological Cancer Research Trust, the Graci foundation. This foundation was set up to improve outcomes for women suffering from gynaecological cancer by supporting NZ based research. As a nurse working in Women’s Health, I understand the importance of this research for helping women have better treatments and outcomes in the future. In New Zealand, one woman dies every day of a gynaecological related cancer.
I would love to raise $750 nzd to help support the work the Graci foundation are doing for the women of New Zealand, and spread awareness while doing so.
To find out more about the Graci foundation head to their website: https://www.graci.co.nz/
And to learn more about the five gynaecological cancers head to the NZ gynaecological cancer foundation website: https://nzgcf.org.nz/
I have decided to raise money for New Zealand’s Graci foundation to support their work and help raise awareness of the five gynae cancers. As a nurse working in women’s health I am passionate about supporting this research where I can.
Almost chop time 31 October 2019
Hi all! Just another Thankyou message as we’ve gone above and beyond the goal! Over $800 is incredible, well done team! I have an appointment with a Salon, Out of the box in Waikuku who are generously donating their service and their time to do the chop coming up very shortly (pun not intended). Half of my hair will be donated to Freedom Wigs and the shorter parts around the front that aren’t quite long enough will be going to Hair Collect who send hair to Uganda for women to make into wigs and sell. Two incredible services!
Thankyou again for all your on going support.
