Running the 12km Auckland Traverse to raise money and awareness for Endometriosis NZ!
Auckland
Help me help the women of NZ!
As someone who has struggled with Endometriosis for the past 12 years, 2 surgeries, 4 additional hospital stays and consistent medication, I want to do what I can to raise awareness and help fund research.
Endometriosis is a disease that affects 1 in 10 women in New Zealand yet is so poorly understood. It is a disease that can have detrimental effects to a women and can ultimately cause infertility. At this stage there no known cause so treating it is difficult and varies from person to person.
Endometriosis NZ is an incredible organisation that are the voice of tens of thousands of girls and women with endometriosis in New Zealand. They work with those who treat the condition and researchers to find solutions. They provide unique and professional services and programs to reach individuals, communities, schools, workplaces and all stakeholders involved in improving health outcomes for those with endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain.
I am running not only for myself but for my friends and all those who suffer from endometriosis in the hope we can not only find a cause but further educate people that this is a real disease that causes so many issues for women all over the country.
I am not a big runner so this is a big commitment for me, please get behind me! Any contribution helps!
As someone who has struggled with endometriosis for the past 12 years I want to raise money to fund further research and to create increased awareness to educate people on the disease.
