Fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis NZ
Canterbury
Hello, thanks for checking out our CF fundraising page!
May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness month. CF is the most common life threatening genetic condition in NZ, affecting around 540 people currently. It mainly affects the lungs and pancreas, but also sinuses, digestive system and other organs over time.
Life expectancy is currently around 40 on average, but many don't live that long. People with CF have to endure countless hours of physical therapy and lots of medications, nebulisers and hospital time.
There is no cure for CF, but most NZers with CF would benefit from a groundbreaking drug called Trikafta, which can turn CF from a life threatening disease to a manageable condition. This drug is NOT funded in NZ!
It is critical this drug be funded. People with cystic fibrosis don't have time to wait.
Funds raised will go to CFNZ, to help with support, research and advocacy.
On behalf of our 5 year old daughter with Cystic Fibrosis, thank you for any and every donation!
