Fundraising for Kidney Health New Zealand

Nationwide

My name is Jo Pearce and just over a year ago, I was diagnosed with a kidney disease called Minimal Change Disease.

I have spend the last year coming to terms with this condition and the various side effects from the medication which I need to tackle this condition. My husband and my running have been the main things which have got me through the tough times during this last 12 months.

I now want to try and raise awareness of kidney disease to people, as I feel we still know very little about the various forms of Kidney disease which can affect any one of us at any time. I also want to help support the charity "Kidney Health New Zealand", who are doing a fantastic job in trying to raise awareness and educate New Zealanders about kidney disease, while setting up regular testing sites around the country where people can go to check their kidney health.

To do this I am setting myself the challenge to aim to run a total of 200km during the course of a month in October. This challenge will be a hard one and will require dedication, determination and consistency.

I would really appreciate any support you can provide to help me achieve this goal and would love for you to be a part of this fundraiser journey with me.

Together we can make a difference in someone’s life. Someone out there who is not yet aware that they have a kidney disease and that there is help and support available.

Thank you Everyone!  19 November 2021

I just want to again thank everyone for your kind words and support in this challenge, as well as helping me to raise money for a great cause, you really don't know how much it means to me to have this much support on this.

Running 200km's over the course of the month has been hard, but I have learnt a lot about the value of consistency and planning ahead. I am also really proud to have been able to help support Kidney Health NZ by completing this challenge and raising money for them, this will go a long way in helping them raise awareness of Kidney Disease here in New Zealand!
