Isaac Group builds civil infrastructure across the South Island under a series of brands within the Isaac Group; Isaac Construction (CHCH and Dunedin), Liddell Contracting (West Coast), and Simcox Construction (Blenheim).

We’re very unusual as a civil construction business, in that we’re largely owned by the Isaac Conservation and Wildlife Trust. A major focus for our business is to support and contribute to the conservation work the Trust does, including breeding endangered birds, native planting programs, and educational scholarships. This is unique within our industry and gives us all a purpose that’s much bigger than ourselves.

Our Group promise to Create, Conserve and Care means we get excited about seeing our people grow and develop their careers, building a legacy of great infrastructure for our community, and giving back through our commitment to combining Construction with Conservation.

Why have you decided to do Bayleys Plate Up for a Purpose this year?

The Christchurch City Mission’s Back to School program provides the opportunity for children to access the basics they need to get the education they deserve. This is something many of us take for granted, but it’s not a given for every family.

It’s my third year raising money for this cause, and I know our efforts have made a real difference. Being part of this event is a great opportunity to do something that will have a real impact for people in our community. How could I not get behind it?

Who’s your chef hero and why?

Gordon Ramsey’s liberal with his language which sits really F#$#&n well with me.

What’s your signature dish?

One side of our family roots are in Buller, so I can whip up a mean whitebait fritter, and I do seem to be able to cook fish to a reasonable standard too. There’s not much better than a piece of fresh fish cooked well, and it’s a great food for family gatherings.
