We are challenging ourselves to collectively walk the length of New Zealand in support of the Mental Health Foundation.
Nationwide
Mental health is an issue that impacts so many New Zealanders. Did you know that one in five Kiwis will experience a mental health problem this year, and more than half of us will go through distress or mental illness at some point in our lives?
As a team of 12, we are challenging ourselves to (virtually) walk the length of New Zealand in three weeks to help raise awareness and funds for the Mental Health Foundation's work. Collectively, this equates to 1,600 kilometers and nearly 2.1 million steps! We will kick of our challenge on 10 October 2019 - World Mental Health Day 2019.
The Mental Health Foundation supports people experiencing mental illness and their families/friends by providing information and campaigning to raise awareness and reduce discrimination. This work influences individuals, whanau, organisations and communities to improve and sustain their mental health and reach their full potential.

Stepping well! 16 October 2019
We are now heading into day 7 of our Challenge and we are progressing well!
As of last night (end of day 6) - our team has completed 607,019 steps out of our required 2.1m!
This puts us slightly ahead (31,000 steps) of our targeted steps at this stage of the Challenge... we've got a couple of strong team members driving up our average but we are all stepping away!
Thank you so much for all our support to date. Look out for more updates... team step count below.
