We want to help raise awareness of the resources available and the work done by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.
Nationwide
This year during the Ford Trophy the Otago Volts will be participating in a Movember style fund raiser to help support the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.
This organisation is involved in diverse campaigns and services that cover all aspects of mental health and wellbeing. Some of their work include the "All Right?" campaign that was launched in 2013 following the Canterbury earthquakes. They also run a Mental Health Awareness Week that is focused around promotion of mental well-being.
The Mental Health Foundation also develops information resources to support people who are worried about their own suicide risk or the suicide risk of someone close to them. The importance of this kind of work cannot be understated, especially in New Zealand where suicide is one of the leading killers in young men.
Mental health, depression, and suicide are issues that are close to the hearts of many which is why we chose to promote awareness of the resources available and help support this organisation.
We want to help this organisation to help raise awareness for those struggling with mental health issues and help provide resources to promote and maintain a healthy mental state.
