Help victims and their loved ones recover. Build a world community that grows stronger each time hate attempts to drive us apart.

Canterbury

I am raising funds for Victim Support's donation campaign to aid New Zealanders impacted by the Christchurch shooting on Friday, March 15th. Victim Support is a NZ-based independent incorporated society that provides free 24/7 community response to help victims of serious crime and trauma. Victim Support is operating one of the largest fund-raising campaigns for the mosque shooting victims.

I was truly shocked by Friday morning's news of violence and innocent lives lost at the two Christchurch mosques - together we can help the victims and their loved ones begin to rebuild and move forward from this awful event. As Victim Support states in their Vision: "Victims of crime and trauma are in control of restoring their lives."

As members of the community at large; we can lend support to the victims of this tragedy and also send a powerful message showing that efforts to divide humanity and pit us against one another based on small distinctions have the opposite effect. The more we find ways to support those victimized by extreme, hateful views; the louder we say that walls, unjust laws or violence cannot be used to divide us.

You can find more information on how Victim Support plans to use raised funds at the main page for their Givealittle donation campaign:

I am an American who recently visited New Zealand. I was shocked by the mass killings at the mosques in Christchurch, and want to raise money to help the victims.
