Rickshaw Run - India, January 2017

Help us make a wish come true.

Sammy, Jeshua and Olivia are taking on an epic Rickshaw adventure travelling over 2500km in a 7 horsepower glorified lawnmower across India.

Starting in Cochin we will spend 10 hours a day in a racing the clock and 60 other teams to be the first to reach Jailsalmer. We expect this to take 14 days, but this trip is more than just a grueling journey with no set route and no back up.

This is an opportunity for us AND you to help make a meaningful difference by raising funds for kids living with life threatening medical conditions (MakeaWish) and help to halt rainforest destruction (Cool Earth).

Each team competing in the Rickshaw Run have the challenge of raising $2000 NZD. All fundraising efforts will be donated to the following two charities:

MakeaWish NZ works to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish relies entirely on donations from individuals, community groups and organisations to deliver it's wishes. You can help us to ensure that every eligible child can have their one true wish come true by raising essential funds.

Cool Earth - Every year 25 million acres of rainforest is cleared. That's an area the size of Iceland. Cool Earth is a charity that works alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction. A whole acre of pristine Peruvian rainforest can be left to its merry self for just $150.

While sitting in a rickshaw won't solve these mammoth issues, reaching our fundraising goal of $2000 will help Cool Earth save 16 acres of rainforest and will help grant the wish of a New Zealand child living with a life threatening illness.

Please Note:

- You're not paying for us: 100% of the funds raised go to our wonderful charities. None of the donated funds will be used to cover the costs of the Rickshaw Run, travel to India or the various overseas expeditions that are currently underway.

- How the funds will be split: Every donation that is made is automatically split in two then donated to Makeawish and Cool Earth evenly. This way you look extra generous for making two donations.

- How the money will be handled: Half the money donated goes directly from Givealittle to Make A Wish. The other half goes into an account we have set up on behalf of Cool Earth. We will transfer this money to Cool Earth on the last day of the Rickshaw Run.

- Dealing with the Taxman: Every donor will receive an official Tax Donation Receipt for the Make A Wish portion of your donation. As Cool Earth is not registered in New Zealand givealittle cannot automatically generate tax receipts. If you're donating from outside New Zealand and/or need a tax receipt for any donations made, please contact us directly before you donate. We will work with you to try get you what you need.
