Like a lot of people, I was pretty saddened to see how distraught and exhausted Mike King was when talking about the fundraising efforts for Gumboot Friday.
It made me realise I no longer want to be a passive supporter when it comes to such an important kaupapa.
I’m running the Dunedin Marathon on September 12 and will be raising money for KEY TO LIFE to do the awesome mahi they do. It isn’t just about awareness, though. I will match every dollar raised to do my bit to help.

Kia ora everyone,
Thanks heaps for all of the support so far! It has been a dark and cold winter here in Dunedin and unfortunately I picked up a minor injury niggle last week.
Rest assured I'm resuming my training this week so that I can tackle this goal of mine.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far - it means a lot and it's often hard to know financially whether it is possible to be able to raise such a big amount! Thankfully, once I've added my contribution we are almost halfway already!
If you're considering donating, please know it is going to a good cause and all proceeds are working towards improving things for all children who need that support they so often aren't receiving.
