Sarah will attempt to swim across the Cook Strait in memory of John Pollock. Help her raise money for Cancer Research.
Northland
People often ask me "what do you think about when you swim for all those hours?" The truth is I think about everything from what's for dinner to solutions to difficult work problems or concentrating on my swim stroke to make every pull count. I also have alot of opportunity to remember loved ones. In 2014 my father died of bowel cancer at the age of 64, in the year of his retirement. Like a ripple effect, all the lives around him are forever changed.
I have been waiting and training to swim across the Cook Strait since 2016 and expect to get a weather window between march and april 2019. The Cook Strait is notorious for its cold water temperatures, windy weather systems and erratic currents, making this one of the most famous crossings internationally. Hopefully training, tenacity, and a good safety team will facilitate success.
We are all affected by cancer in some way. Please gift what you can spare to cancer research.
We can achieve great things when we work together.
I want to support cancer research in the memory of John Pollock.
