Southland
Nepal has been severely jolted by another quake on Tuesday 12th, May, epicentered Dolakha district. Once again Nepal and the innocent nepalese are forced to blunt the mother nature's anger. Sixty One people are confirmed death by the tuesday's quake and the death toll is feared to rise. The death toll from 25th April's quake has reached 8000. Saturday, 25th April has been marked as a black day in the history of Nepal as, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake centred 78 Km west of Kathmandu rattled this naturally beautiful country, causing widespread and devastating damage. Nepal today needs help and prays from everyone as the people are forced to live outside without food, water and proper clothing. We are group of Nepalese residing in Southland, New Zealand; most of us are students at SIT. In these hard times, we are helplessly witnessing the death of our people; the ruins of those fallen monuments; and the trauma of our family. We feel powerless, nervous, besieged and dejected. For most of us, as much as we want to be in Nepal, it is not easy to do so. We want to give back something to Nepal in this crisis and make something immediate contribution to quake affected people. We request all the southlanders to join us in our noble cause and donate generously to the victims of this disaster.
The funds collected will be donated to Red Cross to help the quake victims in Nepal.
