This is my personal fundraising page for the IT Heavy Hitter charity boxing event. Money raised will go to The Key to Life Charitable Trust.

In February I began my training for IT Heavy Hitters that takes place on May 6th.

This wonderful boxing event supports The Key to Life Charitable Trust who's aim is to forever change the way New Zealanders think, act and feel about mental health and suicide.

While I am getting in the ring to support KTL, my amazing friends Nadine Henderson and Mel Warhurst are going to ‘Chop their mops’ to support ’Wigs for kids’ (http://www.wigsforkids.org/), who make wigs from donated hair, and provide them free of charge to children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy and other medical issues.

On the 17th of May their hair will be tied into pony tails to be cut off and sent away to create a wig for a little person in need. We all know people that have been affected by Suicide and Cancer, by donating you will be helping both causes.

The money raised for both events enables the KTL team to talk at schools and in communities around NZ about mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

It also pays for immediate mental health care for those who turn up to their doctors and are depressed or even suicidal, and are told they'll be seen by a specialist in around 60 days.

We all know money doesn't solve people problems, but it does get people to the people who can help solve the problems.

I signed up to compete in the HTHH boxing event as it supports such a great charity. I feel very proud to be involved with this event and see the funds raised go to such a worthwhile cause.

Nads and Mel chop for Charity 5 May 2017

They have decided that all money raised will go to the Key to Life charity as "We all know people that have been affected by Suicide and Cancer, by donating you will be helping both causes."
