Adults with disabilities deserve to thrive in their community and live their best life

Thrive is an organization the believes every life should thrive. The way we do this is by supporting adults who have a disability through creating opportunities for them to contribute and participate in their community.

Thrive have two main ways we do this.

Education: All of our adults desire to be able to read, write and do mathematics so we develop an individualized plan that has goals co-set by a qualified teacher, caregiver and the adult. Then with support the adults work towards achieving the goals.

Enterprise: Another way we support our adults is by creating jobs for them while being with Thrive. Within Thrive there are multiple stations that our adults can work in. Every station produces product to sell in our shop. We take the adult through the whole finding work process. C.V writing, filling an application form and doing an interview. This allows them to experience what the work force feels like.

What we have done is combine the education and enterprise so what they are learning through education they can apply it to their work station.

In doing this, it allows our adults to find purpose and drive to live their best life. Whilst doing all this, they are doing it with their peers and developing great social skills but more importantly they are creating long lasting friendships.
