Running the Christchurch Marathon for the Himalayan Trust!
Running the upcoming 2021 Christchurch Marathon, and consequently raising funds for the Himalayan Trust.
CanterburyNamaste! Kia Ora Everyone! First and foremost, best wishes for 2021!
For over five decades, The Himalayan Trust, an internationally renowned humanitarian organization has been working tirelessly to make an impact in the mountains of Nepal. The philanthropic journey initiated by Sir Edmund Hillary with the construction of a school in a small Sherpa village, Khumjung, to building many more schools, hospitals, training teachers and doctors, and restoring forests, has changed the face of Khumbu today, paving its way towards amelioration.
As a native of Khumbu, I feel a profound sense of pride to have had this relationship with Sir Ed, which has only inspired me to develop my purpose to give back to my community. Following the footsteps of Sir Ed, I’m running the upcoming 2021 Christchurch Marathon on the 11th of April, and consequently raising funds for the Himalayan Trust (1000$ for every month until the race day). What an amazing opportunity! One that combines my passion for running- my moral compass- and doing so whilst raising money for a greater cause.
Every donation, large or small will bring education, healthcare, and safe water to communities in the Everest region of Nepal – and help keep Sir Ed’s legacy alive. Sir Ed’s greatest achievement was not climbing Everest but helping the people of Nepal. Therefore, I would like to request you to get on board on my journey and help me make a difference!
