Auckland
On the 5th of April I am taking part in a 6 km walk of the Central Auckland CBD with some colleagues and a wider group where each person carries a 20L jerry can of water. I will be preparing for this walk over the next couple of weeks and I am doing this to bring awareness to the plight of women and girls who have to do this walk every day, and by doing so miss out on precious time to study and help look after their families. I’d love for you to support by donating as it helps Engineers Without Borders New Zealand (EWBNZ) work with local engineers to develop their technical skills and make sure those women and girls have good access to safe and secure water supplies.
This fundraising event was scheduled to take place on World Water Water Day (22nd March), however in light of the atrocities in Christchurch on 15th March, it was decided to postpone the Walk for Water challenge to the 5th of April. This was to give all participants a chance to attend the memorial event held in Auckland Domain on 22nd March.
Thank you for all your support!

I am participating in the Walk for Water to support EWBNZ as their engineers and humanitarians work hard to build the capacity of local engineers so that they can design, operate and maintain locally sources supplies in a culturally appropriate context
