To show our support for Melodie and raise money for White Matter Brain Cancer Trust.
Wellington
Hi Everyone, as some of you know our daughter in law / sister in law / Aunty; Melodie, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in June this year. GBM is one of the most complex and aggressive types of brain cancer. Many people don't know brain cancer kills more children than any other disease. It also kills more people under 40 than any other cancer. Yet very little is known about brain cancer, its causes or how to treat it. Melodie being the amazing and beautiful person she is has formed a walk 4 cancer team in Australia to help raise much needed funds for research. So we would also like to show our support over the ditch here in New Zealand.
We will be doing our own version of Walk4BrainCancer to raise money for White Matter Brain Cancer Trust - The White Matter Brain Cancer Trust is a charitable trust which has been established specifically for people diagnosed with brain cancer. The aim of the Trust is to enhance the quality of life of brain cancer sufferers and support them and their families by funding special experiences and practical assistance.
We will walk/run 10k for Melodie on the 27th September.
So please donate and help us make a difference, you'll be helping to enhance the quality of life of brain cancer sufferers and support them and their families. Any money you can give no matter how large or small will be sincerely appreciated, and of course you are more than welcome to join us on our walk - Bridge to bridge walk in Upper Hutt, meeting at Trentham Memorial Park, Barton Road entrance at 10.15am for a 10.30am start.
Showing our support for Melodie and raising money to help others in her situation.
UPDATE 27 September 2020
To anyone who is planning on joining us today it is going ahead regardless of the weather.
Melodie doesn't get to opt out of what she is going through so neither are we!
