Solo walking the length of Te Waipounamu along the Te Araroa Trail, 1300km and supporting New Zealand Women’s Refuge - raising $1 for 1km!

I’m Lauren, originally from Te Puke, Bay of Plenty. I’m off solo walking the length of Te Waipounamu, South Island along the Te Araroa Trail. This trail covers 1300km of beautiful New Zealand landscapes. I’m expecting the walk will take me approximately 2months to complete.
As part of this journey I’ve decided to support New Zealand Women’s Refuge, with a target of raising $1 for each KM I am walking ($1300 in total). This donation will go towards providing women and their children support against domestic violence. A donation of $20 will gift a woman and her children a safe night with a warm bed, hot meals, transportation and support services.
The $1300 donated to the New Zealand Women’s Refuge will cover 65 safe nights, equivalent to about the number of nights I’ll be sleeping out on the TA Trail.
Your support for the NZ Women’s Refuge is hugely appreciated :)
