A mother and daughter walking the length of New Zealand to raise funds for I Am Hope
Auckland
Lena and Tamsin are planning to walk the length of New Zealand, a 3000km journey, to raise funds for I Am Hope. Personal experience has made this cause close to our hearts.
On our Te Araroa journey we’ll be fundraising for the charity I Am Hope, to help them continue their valuable work with young people. I Am Hope seeks to promote positive societal attitudinal change around mental health and they also fund private care and counselling for young people stuck on waiting lists. We know from Lena’s experience that when you first receive your diagnosis - when you may have hit rock bottom - it’s really important to get specialist help quickly. I Am Hope will be known to many school children in New Zealand as they also travel the country visiting schools and sharing their own mental health experiences.
More support is desperately needed. Please if you can spare few dollars we know it will be put to lifesaving use at I am Hope.
We have chosen to fundraise for this charity because they are doing important work providing help to young people who are increasingly in need of mental health support.
Our fundraising deadline has changed! 13 June 2022
Lena and I are very excited to have been invited to be on The Nutters Club radio programme on Newstalk ZB! We'll be chatting with hosts Hamish Williams and Kyle MacDonald on 24th July from 11pm-1am. We've decided to keep our Givealittle page going until then in case we are able to raise a little more for I AM HOPE at that time. We'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to all those people who have already donated to this wonderful organisation through our Givealittle page. Your generosity has blown us away xx
