EMDA is on a quest to raise $10 000 for the Mental Health Foundation
Canterbury
Have you, or someone close to you, ever had to cope with mental health issues? In New Zealand, mental health is a national crisis:
Nearly 50% of New Zealanders will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime.
One in five will experience mental illness this year.
In the year to 30 June 2019, 685 New Zealanders died by suicide.
The Mental Health Foundation (MHF) of New Zealand is focused on promoting positive mental health; the reduction of prejudice and discrimination; suicide prevention; increasing social inclusion for those with lived experience of mental distress, and advocating for positive change.
That's why everyone from EMDA is on a quest to raise $10 000 for the Mental Health Foundation, when EMDA's team competes in the epic Coast to Coast challenge from 7 - 8 February 2020 (www.coasttocoast.co.nz). Our team is made up of EMDA directors, leaders, staff, family and customers - everyone's pitching in!
We will be fundraising every step of the way - and we need your help. By donating whatever you can, you’ll be helping to support the Mental Health Foundation’s information service; suicide prevention resources and bereavement support; mental health awareness campaigns and advocacy to influence the long-term effect on the mental health of all New Zealanders.
With gratitude, in advance, from everyone at EMDA - your support will go a long way for all those on a very tough journey.
MAURI TU, MAURI ORA.
We're going Coast to Coast for those whose challenge is day to day.
Help us raise $10 000 for mental health when EMDA's team competes in the epic Coast to Coast challenge from 7 - 8 February 2020 (www.coasttocoast.co.nz).
