Youthline Fundraiser - Rachel Brawn Miss Auckland Finalist 2018

Youthline is an amazing organisation, dedicated to helping youths throughout New Zealand - offering a range of services, with their most famous one being the 24/7 helpline. With only 10% of funding coming from the government, Youthline relies on kind donations and fundraisers to continue being able to provide such a high quality service.

When we are growing up through adolescence, we need a little bit of help sometimes - whether it be bullying, learning how to cope with depression and anxiety or whatever may be troubling you at the time. New Zealand has the highest rate of youth suicides in the developed world, for such a small country this has become a huge issue. In New Zealand culture, we tend to not talk about the less desirable issues like mental health - this causes youths to feel like they are alone and cannot be free to discuss their inner turmoils, suffering silently. Having an anonymous phone/text service allows these younger people to talk to someone about what’s troubling them, and learn ways to grow as a person.

This is such a righteous cause and we need your help Miss Auckland journey and raise as much as possible!
