Our first week was packed with great times!! Our team worked with St Silas and St David's church here in Christchurch and each member was billeted out to lovely hosts. We served by doing gardening and maintainance for the church and the community. We helped with the youth group where I shared a testimony, we had a worship night with the church's band and squeezed in street evangelism every chance we could! On Friday night we had a very special prayer and worship meeting combined with almost all the YWAM NZ bases!! God is really wanted to move in this city!! And on Sunday we got to run two church services! Katherine and I sung with the worship team, we did our 'hands' drama, we each shred our testimonies and Jasmin preached a message on God's faithfulness. And towards the end we offered prayer and healing... Praise God we get to partner with Him and saw instant healing of a woman's hip!!
"I will sing of the Lord's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations" psalm 89:1
Our two vans filled to the brim with luggage are off!! First stop Christchurch.
Pray that our teams travel well and arrive at our destination safely.
Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 NIV
Over the last 3 months I have been part of the grounds team here at YWAM Nelson. We have planted, we have uprooted many weeds and harvested many fruits and vegetables. And God has done the same work in me. What a fruitful season it has been. Today Melvin and I planted our newest baby, a banana palm!! And an avocado tree grown from a Stone! Please pray they flourish here and produces many fruits for the future YWAMers.
Time for the next season... We leave in 5 days! This will be a time of spreading seeds all over the South Island, preparing the gardens of people's hearts for the holy spirit to come and water.
The last two Fridays we have partnered with the Hope Project delivering bookelts to the Nelson area. The booklets are full of amazing stores of hope from New Zealanders! Please pray that they are received well and fill every household in Nelson with the hope of the Lord.
