We're asking for your help in funding our services for the region's 65+ population. After all hopefully we'll all benefit one day!
Age Concern Wellington supports older people through a number of services:
Our Accredited Visiting Service matches volunteers with people experiencing loneliness. Many older people live on their own and often feel lonely particularly if they have no family nearby or find it difficult to get out and about. Our volunteers visit once a week for conversation, companionship and a cuppa and bring a ray of much needed sunshine.
We help people with their problems, providing advice and support, and connecting them with other agencies and organisations where needed.
We also hold exercise classes and workshops to help people stay fit and healthy. Our Steady As You Go classes are designed to improve strength and balance and reduce the likelihood of a fall.
Most importantly, we believe our 65+ generation have a lot to contribute and we want to help connect them with opportunities to be an active part of our community. Can you help us help them?
