Auckland Festival of Photography

The Auckland Festival of Photography is a FREE to the public, a contemporary art and cultural event which takes place within Auckland - In Venue, Online and Outdoors during June each year. The programme includes a mix of emerging and established artists and comprises existing works and creation of new work.

The Festival encourages participation from people of all walks of life to share their unique stories through the democratic medium of photography. In the last 20 years, over 1.2 million visits have been made to festival exhibitions, talks, and events across the city.

Over 1350 exhibitions and events having been presented, partnered and attended. All free to the public, showcasing photography, through our themed exhibitions, Awards offered - Annual Commission, Auckland Photo Day, Youth Photo Award, Exhibitor/Artists Award and the Aotearoa Music Photo Award. There is also an open access joint programming model - a mix of emerging, student, amateur and grass roots photography.
