Angel Casts gives parents the ability to hold their childs hand, long after they're gone, to aid them in their healing journey. These precious stone replicas of a childs hands and feet are exact impressions, detailing every line, wrinkle, and fingerprint.

We offer casts and ink prints completely free to families within the Waikato, for children aged from 18 weeks gestation through to 12 years old.

This service has been made possible thanks to generous people like you, who understand the value of preserving physical memories of children gone too soon, for mums and dads to hold and recognise as their own. Angel Casts is about creating tangible memories for mums and dads that suffer the loss of a child.

Angel Casts offers bereaved families a unique gift of being able to preserve their childs likeness in stone. We visit with families at their home, Waikato Hospital, or funeral home, to take moulds of their baby or child shortly after they've passed away. These moulds are then cast in high definition resin rock, painted, and framed with precious keepsakes and photos. We offer families two sets of casts – one set framed and one set freestanding to hold and touch.

The feedback from parents has told us that these casts have been instrumental in their grieving process, as well as helped with their other childrens understanding. When a baby is stillborn, parents will often leave hospital with very little, if anything at all. Having tangible keepsakes, that a parent can hold and recognise as their own, gives mums and dads something physical to share with their children, family and friends, to aid in their healing journey.

Angel Casts has been operating as a community group since 2013 and since that time has been self funded, relying on public support and volunteers. We gained charitable status in March 2016 and continue to use volunteers and our own fundraising, with a large community support behind us. We work directly with staff at Waikato Hosptial to ensure that all families are offered casts and prints, before or after their child passes away. Our services are completely free to families within the Waikato, for children aged from 18 weeks gestation through to 12 years old.
