Amateur Radio Emergency Communications is a national organisation of volunteers with a structure allowing professional radio communications representation, planning, management and operational assistance at national, regional and local levels. Able to assist with communications, planning, management and operational aspects. Provision of alternative supplementary radio communications systems.

We have assisted the New Zealand Police and LandSAR at many search and rescue operations, including the Easy Rider tragedy. We also played a major part in the 1984 Southland Floods assisting Civil Defence.

New Response Vehicle Needed.  27 February 2014

We are currently raising funds to replace our 1974 International Response Vehicle which we have had since new. We are well over due for a replacement vehicle that is modern and more efficient.
