We commission ambitious new projects by significant artists and support risk taking and experimentation. We represent contemporary New Zealand art perspectives on the world stage, create opportunities for NZ artists to exhibit overseas and bring international artists here to share their ideas. Through our annual New Artists Show and residency programmes we support the development of emerging artists.
Artspace is committed to supporting artistic research. Our public 'Learning, Unlearning, Relearning' and 'Conversations' spaces provide free public access to important art publications from around the world. Our internships are unique mentored schemes committed to developing the arts professionals of the future. Our talks and events generate discourse around artistic practices. Our engaging publications are a resource for thinking and learning about contemporary art.
