Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nelson-Tasman provides young people the opportunity to experience the friendship and guidance of a screened and trained adult volunteer mentor doing fun, inexpensive activities together.
Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring makes a huge difference for the youth it serves. Research demonstrates mentoring helps youth overcome the many challenges they face:
• 64% developed more positive attitudes towards school
• 55% were better able to express their feelings
• 58% achieved higher grades in social studies, languages and maths

Great news for the Motueka community! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nelson has expanded and is now running the programme there! To do this though we need your help... so consider sponsoring a match ( $100 a month) to give support and friendship, positive role-modeling all with a huge dose of fun to a young person in the community!
