Auckland
The mission of the Commemorative Air force NZ Charitable Educational Trust is to facilitate the members of the Commemoratitve Air Force NZ Wing (Society) to restore, preserve and house for display historic military machines and artifacts for the purpose of education and rememberance. Members of the CAF NZ Wing work on various projects owned by the CAF NZ Trust with the goal to get them operational and able to be displyed and demonstrated to the public. Such projects include Aircraft, Vehicles, Communications and much more. The members benifit by learning about the historical, technical, mechanical or once restored operational aspects of the projects. Some projects are designated Youth Projects with an adult asigned as project co-ordinator. The CAF encourage the public to join the Wing and become more intimately involved. We welcome Mum. Dad and the Kids as well as the Grand parents to join as there is something to interest each generation from active preservation of the artifacts to dressing up for living history displays. Other wise the public can enjoy the sights, sounds, smell and feel of these historic machines at one of the many events the Wing attends to display and commemorate those who served in peacetime and war.
