Foureyes Foundation

Foureyes Foundation

Help us to help NZ school kids thrive. Eyesight problems are a barrier to learning that we want to remove - one pair of glasses at a time.

Nationwide

The Foureyes Foundation has been created to remove barriers to eye care, and to work with communities to raise awareness of the link between poor eyesight and education.

We know through our work to date that about 1 in 10 NZ kids are struggling in school due to poor eye sight.

As an optometrist, it is important to me that we help solve this - so the Foureyes Foundation was created to addressing two areas:

1. Removing barriers to eye care (for NZ Kids) - this is where we provide free screening in schools, free eye testing, and free glasses (or close to cost) to the children we see.

2. Working with the communities to raise awareness of the link between poor eyesight and education - this is the wider community and building relationships with families/schools and other services that are linked to children and their education.

Ultimately, we want our intervention to lead to improved education through improved eyesight.

How can you help?

1. Through donations - all the money we receive goes into removing the barriers to eye care; we have been able to support over 30 schools, 5000 children, and have 4 clinics working alongside iwi-led medical center.

2. Through adult eye tests and glasses - we are a social enterprise (we are Fwd Certified - https://www.fwd.org.nz/certification), and if you are in the Wellington region, visiting us for an eye test/glasses will feed money back into the Foundation to continue the work with kids.

How can we help?

If you are a school, parent, or any other organisation that we can help, get in touch with us - we are a small organisation aiming to do big things, and we would love to hear from you if we can help out.
