Canterbury

Gap Filler is a creative social enterprise that designs and delivers public placemaking installations, and offers a range of services to help others achieve strong community outcomes in and alongside public and private developments – or while developments are still in their planning stages.

Based in Christchurch-Ōtautahi, Gap Filler started in response to the September 2010 Canterbury earthquakes. Since its inception, Gap Filler has realised over 80 projects on vacant sites in and around the city centre. Our projects include a nine hole mini-golf course, a book exchange, a washing machine powered Dance-O-Mat and the world’s first giant, outdoor arcade game system Super Street Arcade.
