Gifts for Kids

Imagine what Christmas would've been like if you hadn’t had presents in a stocking or under the Christmas tree to open.

Imagine how you would've felt if there wasn’t even a single present for you to unwrap on Christmas morning.

The aim of Gifts for Kids is to provide gifts for the kids, whose families are struggling and can’t afford (for whatever reason) to buy presents for their children.

So that those kids get to experience a little of the magic of Christmas that most of us were lucky enough to have as children.

Each year Plunket identifies the families/children who wouldn’t otherwise get a present.

Gifts for Kids funds and buy the gifts with great support from ToyWorld.

Together with Plunket, we have a fun gift wrapping night, in the week leading up to Christmas.

Plunket manages the process where we get a whole bunch of people together to wrap and label each present with the name of the child, and then sort the presents into the individual bags to go to a particular family.

In the days before Christmas Plunket nurses deliver the presents.

For Christmas 2022, with the help of both personal donors and businesses, Gifts for Kids delivered presents to over 600 kids in West Auckland. This year we’re hoping it could be 800 kids.

All the money goes to buying gifts. No one gets paid.

Gifts for Kids is registered as an official charity with Charities Services
