Help us to help our community to reach out and implement our support programs and ideas to build a safer and healthier community.
Southland
My partner Nicole is the sole Director of Healthy Communities Ltd, we are in the process of becoming a registered charity and putting together our board members. we have 5 children at home and with only myself working in full time employment and Nicole's time spent on this charity we are lacking the financial resources to keep our vision for southland alive.
With general administrative costs and day to day expenses of running from home our phone plans and having to be at meetings and attending non-profit workshops etc with our chamber of commerce all these things are coming out of our already small income and it is making it very hard to reach out and help our communities with such little time and money.
We are actively fundraising constantly with Entertainment books and ecostore, also looking at some community discos and garage sales to help raise more funds so we can keep striving to make our vision a reality, but these fundraising ideas are miniscule when you put them beside something like 'Givealittle' we are here to hope that our city, our region and our country can see a need for us and share in the same values we hold for our generation and future generations of New Zealand.
We have a yearly fundraiser in southland called "mums n bubs expo" we launched this in may 2016 and didn't have the turnout we had planned for this will be called the "family expo" in 2017 and will hopefully be a good fundraising tool for us in the future, it was put together as a exhibit for local businesses, charities and support agencies to be at one place for everyone to learn what they can get from these people, to find support and help where needed, read this article from stuff.co.nz to better understand what it is all about.
Our up coming support groups we are running at the moment are "small business networking" and "separated parents support" we are researching and creating support groups for suicide and miscarriage support also.
My partner and I have set upon a journey to register our business as a charity and make a change in our community, bring happiness and education to everyone we touch, fill the gaps in the community that other social services are missing.
We have 5 children and they're our inspiration we want to see them grow old surrounded by love and joy, we want every family we can reach to have an abundance of holistic support around them as well.
we are currently in the process of having everything we will need sorted to become a registered charity but that is a near future goal.
