Honeymoon Valley Landcare Trust

Working to enhance and protect our Honeymoon Valley ecosystem, for the enjoyment and benefit of present and future generations.

Northland

We concentrate on action on the ground.

It's all about increasing bird life and wild kiwi population, reducing pests, protecting our high water quality, weed action and building the community networking and landcare capacity amongst our young folk who will continue on past our lifetimes.

Our volunteer group began in 2014 with our Charitable Trust registered in 2015. Our project has expanded gradually and now includes over 2400 hectares involving 20 landowners, 40 km network of pest control tracks with 400 traps.

Our project borders Maungataniwha Forest Park and we are exploring a larger kiwi corridor project working in with neighbouring landcare groups.

Funding is needed for traps, tools and equipment for weed and track work, and to regularly service our landcare network. Once we have the gear, action happens.
