Kaitaia Sport and Leisure Trust

I wish to help raise much needed funds for youth in the Far North region. These funds will help them further their sporting endeavours.

Northland

John Wills is very passionate and connected to the Far North and wishes to help raise funds that will assist mainly young people in the region in their future sporting endeavours.

John signed up to this boxing event immediately when he knew who the funds raised on the night would be benefiting.

Due to the shear isolation of the Far North region many potential sporting stars are restricted in what they can do and achieve purely due to distance and isolation and very often a lack of funding and ability to travel.

The Kaitaia Sports and Leisure Trust provides a much needed platform for worthy recipients to apply for funding to help them achieve the next step in their journey.

This is a huge plus for the whole region and also potentially for the whole nation.

More about us

The Kaitaia Sports and Leisure Trust has been established to fill a much needed gap in providing funding and assistance to sports people in the Far North of New Zealand.

This Trust focuses on providing assistance for particularly younger people who have great difficulty furthering themselves in sporting endeavours due to shear isolation of their location and the distance to travel to recognised sporting events at regional and national training facilities.

There is a huge amount of natural sporting talent in the Far North and certainly a huge desire to succeed. However, simple things such as uniforms, equipment and even petrol money can be a challenge or a barrier to entry or participation which is a huge shame and a loss to everybody.

The Kaitaia Sports and Leisure Trust wishes to assist suitable applicants on a case by case basis. This service and funding is very much needed in this region and any help is greatly appreciated.
