Lower Hutt Community Foodbank - Helping people in need since 1986
Wellington
Since 1986 the Lower Hutt Community Foodbank has been responding to people's immediate needs through the provision of free emergency food parcels. And because we believe in helping people by giving them a 'hand-up' and not just a 'hand-out', we also refer them to other community support organisations when additional assistance is required.
In the year ending December 2023, the Foodbank distributed over 12,000 food parcels to support those in need, in the Lower Hutt community. We rely on donations from the public to provide this much-needed service - food donations, and cash donations to help us purchase the food for the parcels.
If you'd like to contribute to the Lower Hutt Foodbank, you can:
- Donate food items to the Lower Hutt Foodbank food bin in your local Lower Hutt supermarkets
- Donate funds to our Givealittle page
