Life Education Trust Heartland Otago Southland

All funds raised will be used to deliver the Life Education program to children in the Heartland area.

Otago

Life Education are a nationwide educational charitable organisation, with 32 different regional trusts operating across the country. We use Harold the giraffe as a mascot to teach primary and intermediate school aged children about respect for themselves and others, the value of leading a healthy life, and how our bodies work. The Life Education program is a valuable aid in helping our children to become good people and citizens of our communities, along with learning strategies to cope with the pressures that life presents.

As a snapshot of the work that our Educator, and Harold, do in our region - last year the Classroom visited 57 schools in our Trust’s area (Makarora to Milton, Glenorchy to Gore, Mosgiel and the Maniototo). In round figures, our Educator delivered lessons to approximately 8,200 children in that period.

The Vision of Life Education is to enable children to reach their full potential. We aim to reach every primary school child in our area with the purpose of educating and inspiring generations to embrace positive choices for a healthy mind and body - BUT we need your help to do this!!

It costs over $150,000 per year for the Heartland Trust to provide its valuable services. With no Government funding, it is vital that the community served by Life Education helps us to deliver the program. To continue to deliver our exceptional experiences, we need your support to remain relevant, while also extending our reach to impact even more children.
