Mangere East ACCESS Trust

The Mangere East Community Centre is run by the Mangere East ACCESS Trust. A charitable organisation set up in 1997 to serve people living in the Mangere East community. The support we receive enable us to run a vibrant & busy community centre & make it accessible to everyone.

Our organisation focuses on enriching peoples lives & meeting community needs. To do this we have a dedicated team who manage the centre & lead our programmes & services.

We have 9 staff & 2 volunteers. We pride ourselves in offering high quality evidence-based programmes & services. We have a number of long term strategic partners who we share resources, expertise & administration support.

Our vision is to develop and promote a substantial purpose-built community centre & public transport hub in the heart of Mangere East.

It is envisaged that this centre will expand the community services provided at the current premises to cater to the growing needs of the surrounding population as a community-run facility offering a range of adult learning opportunities, early childhood education, out of school (OSCAR) programmes, & a gymnasium.

Located in the vicinity of the current community buildings behind the library, the new centre should include a welcoming reception area & community cafe, plus administration offices & flexible meeting spaces.

The centre will compliment the retail precinct on the opposite side of Massey Rd, & greatly enhance the library, the village green, the nearby sports facilities & park. A public transport hub at the front of the centre will allow buses to load & unload passengers in a dedicated bay away from the flow of traffic.

Currently, the Mangere East Community Centre space is open 7am - 6pm Monday to Friday. Our activities are run in partnership with other organisations, community groups & talented community members. Our centre activities are supported by funding partnerships & private donations.
