We are a not-for profit organisation & our mission is to protect the care & well-being of our Elderly within our Taranaki region.
Taranaki
We are a charitable trust that set-up because of the shocking number of Abuse & Neglect cases within our region.
We are a new organisation who obtained our seal from the Companies Office on the 11th November 2016. There are many reasons in which why we created this organisation, the most prominent fact that stood out were the elderly within our communities that are or have suffered from some form of abuse or neglect by the ones that they are supposed to be able to trust, in most cases it is a family/whanau member who is the abuser, our aim is to help change this by being able to help those in these situations, we are the ones that people can turn to and voice their concerns and we in turn can get the help for those in need. We are pushing for there to be 2 signatories for any financial matter that involves an elderly/or any person who is unable to make their own decisions, due to mental/health issues. As we have been witness to many family/whanau or a trusted person not agreeing with what the other does, but they seem to be powerless and can’t do anything as they have the sole right by law. This business was an idea that Tracey and I came up with as we were very unhappy with the way in which our elderly people are treated, whether they are in their own homes or in some form of residential care facility and we strongly believe that we can make a difference and make a change in the way services are provided and delivered. We also are able to visit the elderly person within their own homes and this gives us a clear idea of their needs and if they are in fact coping, many elderly people don’t have any support and this is where we come in. The services in which we can provide are Transportation for the elderly to appointments, such as if they are having a procedure done at the hospital they are not allowed to travel home on public transport & someone has to be with them over night we are currently the only organisation that can provide this service, and our staff are fully qualified and trained in all aspects of care and the well-being of the Elderly. We also provide support to the Elderly client and their families/whanau who may be having difficulty in living in their home, such as not having access to the appropriate resources and other organisations, the way in which we are different to other organisations is that we are able to access the information required for the client’s needs and help them organise whatever changes need to happen, we are there for the client’s 24 hours a day 7 days a week and we feel that we have made our organisation easy for people to access and in most cases we are the only ones in which our clients have to go to, as we organise everything for them around their needs. As healthcare assistants ourselves for so many years we have seen so many gaps in the system and this is why we have created this organisation,
Will be used for basically running costs, so we can continue to support our clients out in the community. So as we can keep up our regular visits.
