Mind Over Manner

Mind Over Manner

Mind Over Manner is a charity helping families & workplaces connect and communicate with young people who think, learn and work differently.

Auckland

Mind Over Manner works to strengthen communication and connection with teenagers who think, learn and work differently. These teenagers may be undiagnosed high functioning or diagnosed with such labels as Aspergers, OCD ADHD DYSPRAXIA, ADD ODD and others. These teenagers suffer high anxiety, are often confused or display oppositional behaviour and often family and school functioning becomes dysfunctional as a result. Mind Over Manner works to help these individuals, their whanau and professionals to keep going when they just don’t know what to do next.

Over the last ten years, Mind Over Manner has steadily presented neurodiversity at grassroots level successfully in Auckland and now throughout New Zealand. Our workshops have been presented in Masterton, Wellington, Greymouth, Taranaki, Christchurch, Whakatane, Rotorua and Hamilton with six more new locations planned for 2018.

Mind Over Manner has also developed a second workshop strand for connection and inclusion of young people called Witness. This is currently presenting to secondary school students and teachers throughout New Zealand with the objective to reduce bullying and to encourage students to take responsibility in creating a school culture of Respect.

Mind Over Manner survives off the generosity of private sponsors and community grants to make our work happen. Every donation makes a huge difference.
