MOTAT needs your help!

MOTAT’s vision is to use the past, present and future technology and ingenuity of Aotearoa to educate and inspire the innovators of tomorrow. We do this through creative and experiential initiatives, exhibitions and programming. MOTAT cares for an extensive transport and technology heritage collection. The Museum offers a unique experience with operating collection items such as the historic Beam Engine and Pumphouse and heritage tram rides.

MOTAT was opened in 1964 by a dedicated group of volunteers and is a registered charity.

Please consider donating to MOTAT, your donations will be used to help fund restorations of our heritage items, keep our beloved tram fleet running and bring new and exciting events and exhibitions for all to enjoy.

Thank you for your donation. We appreciate each and every dollar.
