Helping raise funds for India - battling a catastrophic, record-breaking coronavirus outbreak that has overwhelmed hospitals.

Main image

India is battling a catastrophic, record-breaking coronavirus outbreak that has overwhelmed hospitals and set crematoriums working at full capacity.

A severe shortfall of oxygen has slowed the flow of oxygen to only the sickest patients, who need a high pressure, stable supply. Hospitals are running out of oxygen which can help patients with the virus who need support with their breathing stay alive as the number of people needing it are dying.

Ventilators and oxygen concentrators from other countries have started arriving but India is still in need of far more supplies, with many hospitals overwhelmed with covid-19 patients amid a devastating second wave.

Being far from the home country, we cannot physically be there to help people in need. We are always connected with lots of love, and this love can bring us together to help the people in need.

A continuous ongoing help is a need for the people of India, NZICA is focused on helping in collecting funds from throughout the country.

We seek your help to raise funds. Funds raised will be sent to PM CARES.

We do encourage you to help us raise funds in the social media such as Facebook.

100% of the donations collected will go to helping India and the fight against Covid-19.

We are purchasing Oxygen Concentrators  1 May 2021

Posted by: New Zealand Indian Central Association

The Indian government prefers medical equipment donations, so we have secured 60 oxygen concentrators available in NZ.

The cost of these amounts to $120,000. The 60 devices will be airfreighted to India to the India Red Cross.

We are asking everyone to spread the word so we can freight these devices as quickly as possible.

In total we have collected $45,000 in pledges to date, so there is quite a bit yet to go.

All your support is appreciated.
