Northland School needs a new playground and you can help!
Our school desperately needs a new playground. Government rules mean we can’t use Ministry of Education property funding to pay for anything related to the new playground so we must raise all the money ourselves through donations and fundraising activities. We have set an ambitious goal of raising $100,000. For more details see www.northland.school.nz.
The new 100% fun playground will be for everyone in the Northland community to enjoy. Our community has been busy fundraising and has already raised $55,000 but there is still a long way to go. We have a dedicated volunteer playground fundraising team and every dollar you donate will go directly to making our playground vision a reality.
Dear Brioney and Sebastian. Thank you for your very generous donation. There will be an update coming out soon which will outline the next steps the school will take to advance our playground. The Committee is meeting tonight for the first time this year. Regards Playground Committee
Northland School is a small urban primary school that is located in the Wellington region. The school has 334 students enrolled. Northland School's playground is the only one located in the Northland suburb and is therefore an important community feature. In 2016 Northland School will be undertaking a major rebuild of its main 8 classroom block and library. As part of this process the playground will have to be removed. This has provided an exciting opportunity for the School to build a new playground that is interesting and challenging for the children, and more suitable to its environs.
