Platform promotes the work of the community mental health and addiction organisations and profiles the work of the sector to the public and to government agencies.

Platform was formed as a membership based organisation in 2001 to reflect the increasing involvement of Non Government Organisations (NGOs) in the development and delivery of diverse community based mental health services across New Zealand. It has produced information about the sector, its workforce and contribution to the lives of people with experience of mental illness and addictions.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
