Coming together initially around our website, we encourage face-to-face and online conversation on the kinds of practices and a flow of ideas that might constitute a contemporary approach to the Buddha’s teachings.

Though the teachings of the Buddha have been around for two millennia, a secular approach to these teachings is a new concept. Composed mainly of long term practitioners from a variety of dharma traditions, our intention is to create a group of spiritual friends. Interested?

Hello everyone, The vision is to be able to run workshops and offer retreats at no cost to those who attend, to bring teachers to New Zealand, to produce resources that will help people develop their practice of the dharma and make them freely available -- in the end to help create a culture of generosity. Before Winton Higgins's weekend in Wellington, this was just an idea. Now it can be seen to work, and it works well. It is heartwarming to be able to report that not only were all the costs of Winton Higgins' weekend in Wellington covered but there is some left over to enable us to start planning future events. Thank you all.
