We are trying to get ALL of our 80 Yr 7/8 students to a Ski Camp in Whakapapa this August. This is a once in a lifetime experience for many!
St Joseph’s Catholic School Pukekohe Intermediate Team will be attending their bi-annual School Camp to Camp Turangi as part of our Education Outside The Classroom Programme from
Monday 17th until Friday 21st August 2015. Camp Turangi provides our students with the opportunity to interact with our natural environment, extending the children’s experiences while introducing them to environmental challenges and the skills they need to face them. The students will view first hand areas of the Central North Island and appreciate the great outdoors, the value of conservation and to broaden their individual experiences, introducing recreational resources and activities. They will work co-operatively with others in a variety of situations and manage to cope while away from home whilst enjoying a ski experience.
The event is coordinated by the Intermediate Team Teachers of the year 7 & 8 students. Fundraising is co-ordinated by teachers and parents of the students to help reduce the cost of the camp and make attending the camp a viable option for each of our students to attend.
We have been unsuccessful with any of our Grant Applications this year and have many students who will struggle to find the funds to experience this once in a lifetime trip. It is very important to us that ALL our students are able to attend. Please consider making a donation, every little bit helps!
