Preventing litters of uwanted puppies by offering Porirua residents on a low income a spay/neuter program to fix their dog. We also offer a pickup service for people who do not have a car. We work closely with Porirua Council Dog Control to identify owners of dogs that find cost a barrier to fixing their pets.
We are currently booking in approximately 6 dogs per week. Even if one of these six had puppies, that is another up to 10 puppies that need to find homes, often when they lose their cuteness they are dropped to the pound.
