Not for profit Foundation to help provide basic educational, medical and agricultural aid to villagers of Kampong Tralach on the Mekong
Auckland
From 1975 to 1979 the people of Cambodia suffered severely under the Pol Pot (Khmer Rouge) political regime. It was only in the late 1990s that Cambodia emerged from this terrible period in its history and a traumatized nation began the almost impossible task of returning to normal life.
For the past three years Anna Leclercq and Sue Snyders have self funded the provision of vital assistance to impoverished families in the village of Kampong Tralach, on the Mekong Delta, Cambodia. They have provided funding for education and medical and agricultural needs. This funding has included the payment of fees for tertiary education and apprenticeships, the supply of bullocks, carts and agricultural implements, the purchase and donation of a paddy field and the renovation of a derelict pole house for a family with three small children. Unfortunately our funds are now exhausted though our enthusiasm is not, and we need financial help in order to complete the projects we have in hand. Your support would mean the world to so many people.
During a trip to Cambodia in 2013 we discovered a village, Kampong Tralach, on the Mekong Delta whose families were in desperate need of opportunities to lift themselves out of severe poverty. Our Foundation was set up to provide agricultural and medical support, and also to offer education and apprenticeships to young people who up to that time had no hope of any kind of further education and future employment.
Funds raised will be used to :
Supply bullocks, carts and agricultural implements
Complete current renovations on derelict pole houses
Provide further educational assistance to young people on the verge of leaving school and seeking tertiary qualifications and apprenticeships
Continue to facilitate medical help when needed
