Nationwide
The Therapy Box is a small charity whose aim is to provide fun and engaging activities for residents in care facilities (such as rest homes) in New Zealand.
We are currently raising money (our goal is $21,000!) to support 700 care facilities during the COVID-19 lockdown. 100% of money donated will be used to purchase activity kits to send to care facilities during lockdown; we have no paid staff and keep our operating costs to a minimum.
A $30 donation will enable us to purchase the items required to make up 1 activity kit.
Our kits help residents remain active and can reduce anxiety during a difficult time when family, whanau and friends are unable to visit. The activities in the kits are designed to be safe to use when social distancing is required.
We have sent out a total of 477 activity kits to care facilities since April 2020, and are currently raising funds to send out another 700.

Fun with Fish 19 August 2021
Our last activity kit, fun with fish was a real hit!
"Some of my Male residents had fun doing these this afternoon. Thank you! Now just have to display them on our 'Bring the outside in' theme wall."
"Just a big thank you for the fish art etc in an envelope that arrived recently. This kind of scratch art is a huge hit with Care Centre (technically hospital) residents. Last lot we had was mens ties and some of the scratch designs done where amazing. It gives a great sense of achievement. Thank you so much point being lots more scratch art its fabulous."
"Just wanted to say a big thank you for the parcel we received today … the activity was really well received, and we will be using the quiz and fun facts next week."
