The KuiKui Charitable Trust

The Wop Wop wetlands have an emphasis on the Endangered Long finned Eel (Tuna) who take residence in its streams.

Manawatu / Whanganui

Set in the small, rural village of Norsewood, New Zealand, The Wop Wops is open to the

public as a historic and ecological, educational activity. The Park is run by The KuiKui Charitable Trust and has an educational emphasis on the Endangered Long finned Eel (Tuna) who take residence in The Wop Wops streams and the One Plan objective to clean up our waterways.

Work began in 2013 and has come this far from the generosity of donations and the hard work of the the KuiKui Trust Team and its volunteers. Things like walkways, planting and landscaping have really given the land a new lease of life! We have provided a spacious outdoor park for the community, travelers and anyone in between, to come and enjoy the natural sites and scenery.

A long term lease is being set up by the property owners; Norsewood Heritage Ltd, to the KuiKui Charitable Trust with the vision of keeping this project safe for future generations to enjoy.

Your donations will be most gratefully received and will help with the ongoing maintenance of the wetlands and further upgrades to benefit all who come to visit. Thank you for supporting The Wop Wops.

2019 New Year  5 January 2019

The Wopwops Wetland Park our very own eco project :)

Mother nature (Papatuanuku) Threw some weather at us and undone quite a bit of work in tracks and plantings through December. We are going to bow to her this time and build a raised platform to allow the flood waters to flow under and a couple of platforms that wash out at the main feeding area.

The timber for these will be around $2000 so we are fundraising through the Kui Kui Charitable trust to get this together. Any help is appreciated if you visit we have donation stations or if you want to support online this is our give a little page, https://givealittle.co.nz/org/thewopwops thanks for considering helping out.

NZ Natural Clothing and our property Company pay the labour content and top up for materials, we would like to thank our other contributors and wish them a Happy New Year.
